Key Stage 3 Shakespeare Consultation
The current programme of Shakespeare plays set for study as part of the key stage 3 English test runs to 2008 and the decision on which plays will be introduced to the rolling programme in the future will soon be made. The National Assessment Agency (NAA) is therefore conducting a consultation to gather stakeholders' opinions on which plays are suitable for inclusion in the key stage 3 programme. NAA would like all key stage 3 English teachers to take part in this consultation by means of a questionnaire now live on the QCA website. The consultation will run until 1 December.

The new Learning Net
The North Yorkshire Schools Learning Net has grown in popularity (exceeding one million 'hits' per month at the start of 2006) and is soon to be replaced with the new Learning Net, more widely targeted to include all concerned with the education of children and young people. The new Learning Net will be available for use in the near future, we will inform all establishments when it is due to go live.

Strategic Leadership of ICT (SLICT)
The very successful SLICT programme will continue through 2006/7 and now integrates Becta's Self Review Framework. Programme subsidies have been maintained at similar levels to last year (contact National College for School Leadership for details). Around 30% of North Yorkshire headteachers, from both primary and secondary schools, have attended these courses to date and evaluation of the programme has been overwhelmingly positive.

Key Stage Results - Key to Success Website
Schools can now search for historical end of Key Stage results via the Key to Success website, for pupils who are, or have been, on the school roll. This includes results for pupils for whom they have not received previous Key Stage outcomes and data for pupils who have recently been transferred.
Access will vary by phase:

· Infant schools have no access, as there is currently no pre KS1 data collected at a national level.
· Junior and Primary schools have access only to KS1 results.
· Secondary schools have access to KS1, KS2 and KS3 results.
· Middle deemed primary and secondary schools will have access up to but not including, the last Key Stage assessments taken in the school.

The search facility will be via the pupil(s)' UPN, and only records for pupils who were included in the 2005 PLASC collection can be accessed. Further details on how to access the data are available at the link below.
